Bright Midnight

A moonless heart fades
Tempted
By darker shades

Weeping light from broken eyes
That pools
In the empty souless skies

When gentle touches reach out
The blinded
Shrivels in agony of self doubt

Brighter comes the midnight
Bearing a smile
That is determined to teach delight
