Dry Tears

~Dry Tears~
Pearls dribbled down her cheeks
Tears from a goddess's anguished eyes
Watching her lover destroyed by those who are weak
Tore her unfathomable soul like a hot rock through ice

A human lay in a forest deep when pearls rained down on him
He glanced to the heavens amazed by what the goddess did weep
Gathering the pearls he made off to a cache where he hid them
Trusting no one, he swore his secret he would keep
~~
Tiny hands found the pearls and stole them away
Irridescant wings flew them high into the air
Tossing them out into the heavens where magic holds sway
The pearls would become stars seen only by the Fae
~~
A goddess's grief was spilled onto the world
In the form of pearls and now they rain
Like shooting stars across the noctunal sworl
Her mourning became our gain
