Gentle Creatures Of The Night

Softly creep the shadows into the world
defeating the day's hold
Destroying her embrace
Night boldly takes his place
Painting the sky from his starlit pallet
beckoning his children to come out
Encouraging them to leap and shout
Their freedom songs
This is when shadow creatures belong
When tender lovely gentle creatures succumb
To their more passionate side
To the liberating tide
Of Nights sweet breath
